“HP’s My Backyard campaign is about today’s youth doing their part in protecting the environment by starting with their communities.” Gino Cruz composed it. Gino held a workshop with the children to write the lyrics. He asked them to complete three sentences: My backyard is… It is…I will… Sorting through their very poetic answers, he composed the theme song. During the launch of the campaign, the students got to meet Charice Pempengco and Arnel Pineda, who are both international singers. They are also HP My Backyard advocates. Charice also lent her voice to the campaign song “My Backyard."

How much more can one young lady inspire?  Not only does Charice wow us with her amazing grace in singing, she also embodies everything that every parent wants their child to aspire to, a model citizen of the world that people can look up to and be proud to associate with. Charice once again becomes an ambassador for change representing the younger generation in an innovative environmental campaign launched by Hewlett Packard (HP) Philippines in partnership with the Ayala Foundation, Inc.  Part of this campaign is a community-wide clean-up encouraging students to get involved by starting in their own “backyard.”

“I am so proud to be part of this advocacy and be able to inspire young people like me to help save Mother Earth. Ever since, I really want to take part in environmental programs that focus on the youth,” says Charice
